Domaine Mouriesse Vinum is one of the smallest producers in Châteauneuf du Pape, run by a husband and wife team, Serge and Brigitte Mouriesse, with a mere 2.5 hectares of vines (by comparison, an average Bordeaux estate has around 20 hectares). But as they say, quality over quantity, and you’ll find quality in spades with their wines (which by the way are all organic).
The passion for wine runs deep in both Brigitte and Serge. Since he was old enough to drink, Serge has been obsessed by wine, and Brigitte hails from a family of winemakers. A match made in heaven, some would say. In 2008, Serge and Brigitte achieved their dream and bought their first parcel of vines, the start of Mouriesse Vinum, quickly followed by a few more parcels to expand the range and variety of wines, and they have no intention of stopping. Their love of wine and winemaking is evident in the wines they produce, with perfect balance and great structure, and a reflection of the terroir.
